Can I change money locally or are there ATM’s nearby?
There is one ATM in Moalboal town, approximately 10 minutes from the dive center, which serves the whole town. Small amounts of cash, normally limited by the bank to 10,000.00 PHP per day, are available. It would be prudent to use the ATM machines in Cebu, either in the airport or the city, before travelling to Moalboal and keep a reserve of cash with you in case the machine here needs to be replenished. We advise against travelers cheques, to the best of our knowledge, there is nowhere to change these in Moalboal and they are not widely accepted in the Philippines.

I want to take a diving course, do I need to know how to swim?
PADI discover scuba diving is a non-certification experience that is available to non-swimmers, however you will need to be comfortable around water in order to practice the underwater skills. The PADI open water courses requires candidates to float unassisted for 10 minutes in water too deep to stand and complete a 200 meter swim. The PADI scuba diver course requires a 10 minute float in water which is too deep to stand.

Do I need a medical examination before I dive?
If you are signing up for a dive course or experience you will need to complete a medical questionnaire, you can download this here. If you answer yes to any of the medical screening questions you will need clearance for scuba diving before you can begin your course. It is often easier to do this in your own country before departing on your vacation, if need be
